Welcome to THERMEC'2025
THERMEC’2025 marks the thirteenth installment of the esteemed international conference series on advanced materials. Building upon the successful foundation and legacy of its twelve predecessors – Japan (1988), Australia (1997), USA (2000), Spain (2003), Vancouver-Canada (2006), Germany (2009), Canada (2011), USA (2013), Austria (2016), France (2018), a Virtual Conference in June 2021, and Austria (2023) – THERMEC continues to uphold its established principles.
The THERMEC conference serves as a pivotal platform, uniting professionals including engineers, technologists, and researchers from industry, academia, and government research laboratories across diverse nations such as Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Republic of Korea, PR China, India, Brazil, Southeast Asia, and Russia. This conference facilitates the presentation of their research discoveries within the overarching realm of science and technology encompassing the processing, fabrication, and manufacturing of advanced materials.
Oral and poster presentations dealing with the range of topics listed in this circular will be included in the conference program. In addition to the contributed presentations, the conference committee has invited eminent internationally known researchers in key areas of advanced materials processing/manufacturing from various countries to deliver state-of–the-art Plenary/Keynote lectures at THERMEC 2025.
SCOPE
The Conference will cover all aspects of processing, fabrication, structure/property evaluation andapplications of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, composites including biomaterials, high temperature materials, fuel cells/hydrogen storage technologies, batteries, super capacitors, thermoelectric materials, nanomaterials for energy and structural applications, aerospace structural metallic materials, bulk metallic glasses, UFGM, TMP of fission materials (fuel cladding, structural), high entropy alloys, materials & technologies in fusion reactors, additive manufacturing, smart/intelligent materials, modeling & simulation, welding/Joining-FSW-P, interfaces/Grain boundaries & neutron scattering X-rays studies and materials performance of advanced materials.

VENUE
THERMEC’2025 will be held at the campus of Faculty of Science and Technology of University of Tours, Tours. The University of Tours was established as part of efforts to modernize and democratize higher education in France after the events of 1968. The university was created by grouping together a number of older educational institutions. The University of Tours is distinguished in the field of materials for energy technology research with the Microelectronic at CERTEM in collaboration with ST Microelectronics in 1996. University if also a home for a prestigious school of engineering called, Ecole Polytechnique de Universite de Tours.
Tours, located in the heart of the Loire Valley in central France, serves as a vital hub for tourism and culture. This historic city is renowned for its proximity to numerous châteaux, including the magnificent Château de Villandry and Château d'Amboise. Tours is often celebrated as the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Loire Valley, which boasts over 300 châteaux, illustrating the region's rich architectural heritage and historical significance. The city not only offers a vibrant cultural scene with art galleries and museums but also delights visitors with its gastronomy and wine, drawing from the fertile lands and vineyards surrounding the Loire River. With its favourable climate and extensive tourist infrastructure, Tours attracts millions of visitors each year, making it a key destination for those exploring the beauty and history of France.
In July, Tours enjoys warm summer weather characterized by average maximum temperatures around 22°C. The climate is pleasantly moderated by breezes from the Atlantic, making it comfortable for outdoor activities.
